Why a Tarot course?

Why a Tarot course?
Why would a geek blog have a Tarot course? Well, it’s very simple: I love Tarot cards! I enjoy reading, and I love using the card to create stories. So, it’s no surprise for me (nor anyone who knows me) that I would end up creating a first Tarot course (which I believe will be followed by many others).
I was first introduced to the Tarot thanks to a friend who gave me a deck as a present just because I fell in love with the artwork. Ever since, I’ve been collecting decks because the cards would say something to me, and reading them to family and friends. However, the most interesting thing I do with them is to use them to write stories and to journal.
Tarot 101: choose a very nice deck
So, what are we going to do during this course? First of all, we’re going to choose a very nice deck to connect with each of the 78 cards. For this course I will use two very different decks that are both based on the Rider-Waite Tarot. However, you don’t need to choose the same. You can choose another deck that calls your heart. Just be aware that there might be nuances, and these are cool. That’s why I recommend having a Tarot journal from day one. Dedicate a page or more for each card.
You can write all the meanings of the cards, but you can go a step further and create stories (based or not in reality). This will also help you in creating a strong connection with each of the cards.
If you’re interested in my writings about each card and also some horoscope readings, you can read them on Medium.
Creative writing
Another cool thing to do is to use the cards for creative writing. The idea is to connect with the image depicted on each card, explore the meaning, and then writing a short story. If you don’t like writing, I suggest you to choose art to do something similar. You can depict the card in a different way, or explore it with colors.
Basically, get creative and explore the meaning by imagining what the main character’s back story is while tuning with the meaning of the cards.
What do you need for the Course?
A Tarot deck of your choice, or one (or both) the ones I’ll use. (I love them, they’re super pretty).
- The Muse Tarot [Affiliate Link] It’s a modern Tarot based on the Rider-Waite deck. It looks very fresh, but I must admit that cards have metaphors depicted and it might come up as a little bit difficult at the beginning.
- Radiant Wise Spirit Tarot [Affiliate Link] This one is basically the Rider-Waite deck with fantastic colors.
If you connect with one very modern deck and then a “traditional deck,” then you’re set for success.
You’ll also need a Journal of your choice, and pens.
And finally, you’ll need the will to enjoy the ride 😉
