Onedari Hitsuji to Koisuru Ookami (Yaoi Manga)

This time I’m reviewing “Onedari Hitsuji to Koisuru Ookami” (おねだりヒツジと恋するオオカミ), a sweet yaoi manga by Kurumi Ohtsuki. I got it from CDJapan, and I decided to take pictures of some pages instead of scanning them. The reason is simple: I don’t want to damage the manga. I like my manga to be pristine, and since I don’t own a digital copy, I went for the old way: taking some horrible pics. But, you can get the idea of what’s this sweet BL manga all about.

The setup of the story is quite sweet: a world where people are animals. The sheep called Mary is in love with the Wolf Ookami. They have many friends in common, including the Wild Cat who messes things up. Well, he “spices” things up. Don’t expect many explicit scenes with this manga, instead be prepared for some sweet giggles.

The Sheep tends to get lost. Fortunately, the Wolf Ookami found him. From here onwards things get messy for the wolf. The Sheep fancies him and will give him gifts, like nuts and veggies. But the Wolf doesn’t eat those things. The Sheep is cute but impulsive. He gets emotional easily. While playing cards with friends, he loses it and goes away. Found by the Wolf, they discover two rabbits that are having sex. But the Sheep doesn’t get it. He thinks that they might be ill. The Wolf discovers then that the Sheep is pure and tries to shield him. He basically tells an excuse to bring him out of sight.

But, the Sheep is in love with the Wolf and wants more. So, he brings him berries at home, even if he’s ill. Thus, the Wolf lets him stay home. But that’s trouble because Ookami finds Mary is too cute. But it turns out Mary isn’t ill at all. He has heat for the first time, and he doesn’t know what to do. The Wolf is trying to avoid Mary, but he follows him. Mary asks Ookami why he’s trying to avoid him, and the Wolf confesses that he likes Mary. He wanted things to go slowly, and now everything has changed because Mary has the heat for the first time.

Instead of having a Wolf chasing a sheep, we have a sheep making a Wolf whatever he likes. However, this sheep is very innocent. Mary confesses to Ookami too, and they end up doing everything. The whimsical touch is that Mary confesses to Ookami who is giving him advice: his grandfather! After this, we follow the couple’s adventures in knowing each other a little bit more. Ookama used to have sex with Yama Neko, and so Mary ends up asking him for some advice. The cat won’t trick Mary, but instead give him some naughty advice: get a toy. So, Mary does get one and explores a little with it.

It’s lovely to see them so in love, and the cat trying to help. Although, he ends up giving super naughty advice. This is a super sweet yaoi manga with few surprises. It’s a comedy of love discovery where anthropomorphic animals (more human than animals) explain emotions. After following Ookami and Mary’s love, we get two extra stories. One is: “to love, or to be loved; that is the question.” 「愛するか愛されるか、それが問題だ。」

Chiba and Sugiyama go to the same high-school. One day, Chiba confesses his love to Sugiyama and start dating. They start talking about clothing, and Chiba says that he loves the white color. On their way home, they find a white cat, and Chiba asks Sugiyama to take pictures of the cat and him. Until that day, they just kissed each other. So, Sugiyama, who wants more, ends up researching on the internet about what to do next. And he thinks that it might be painful. But when Chiba calls him to invite him home at night while his family is out, he accepts without thinking twice. After playing video games, love happens naturally. They do end up deciding who is the uke, but it’s sweet. This story depicts what a first time together looks like.

And finally, we have 「恋愛コードS真夜中の課外プログラム」or “love code S, midnight extracurricular program.” Here we have Hirose and Izumi. Izumi bumps into his rival in the office. He ends up working more because of that, and Hirose ends up inviting him to his house. Sleeping in the company’s office isn’t lovely, so Izumi ends up accepting. You can imagine what will happen in Hirose’s home. Hirose is a seme who loves to bug ukes. Izumi is a uke, but he doesn’t know it yet. Well, until he goes to Hirose’s apartment.

This is a cute yaoi manga. Sweet but not deep. Don’t expect too much from it, but you can have many giggles. If you fancy something light that still has tons of juicy scenes, this is for you then. Plus, the cover is neon pink, and the artwork is sweet too.
