Ten Count Vol.2 (Yaoi Manga)
Ten Count [The Book Depository] [Waterstones] develops further in the second volume. This yaoi manga is breathtaking despite the slow pace. We left Shirotani shocked because Kurose said to him goodbye. Because of his childhood trauma, he goes backward. That means that any advances that he made are but gone, but worse. Shirotani isn’t going to work. He’s just panicking at home, thinking about how disgusting he is, and all the things he made. He blames Kurose and himself.
If you disappear out of the blue from work, it’s obvious that your boss and working mates are going to worry about you. So, Mikami, Shirotani’s coworker, phones Kurose asking for help. He explains to him how bad the situation is, and if he can make something to convince Shirotani to get better. Kurose is shocked by the news and contacts Shirotani immediately.

By the time Shirotani checks his phone, a long time has passed. He finds many emails and lost calls from work, and, to his surprise, also from Kurose. Kurose tells him to meet on Saturday at 2pm at the usual coffee shop. He adds that he’ll stay there until he comes to meet him. It’s Saturday, but it’s 7.24pm! Shirotani panics and goes to the place immediately. It’s been hours for Kurose to wait for Shirotani. He wants to apologize, but Shirotani only wants to put him in his past. “Tell me a way to go back before I met you.”
Overwhelmed, he says goodbye to Kurose and runs away, leaving his metro pass behind. Without a wallet and the pass, he cannot go anywhere. So, Shirotani ends up freaking out in middle of the street. For some reason, he gets rid of his gloves. To make matters worse, it starts raining. So, Shirotani ends up on his knees, cuddling himself.
Kurose finds him in that lame position, and he offers him a hand to stand up. Shirotani takes it. Kurose uses his coat and puts it around Shirotani before embracing him. Things get even more emotional now because Kurose finally tells to Shirotani that he likes him. Shirotani is confused, but he doesn’t want to stop meeting with Kurose. They come up with an agreement, but the whole scene is too sweet and too emotional as to review it here in a few words.
Kurose has to admit that it was difficult for him to be around Shirotani. He wanted to kiss him, touch him, but he couldn’t. If Shirotani wants to keep meeting him, he’ll need to compromise. Kurose will do disgusting things to him if they keep meeting each other. Kurose loves Shirotani, and he’s prepared to make Shirotani fall in love with him. That’s a huge statement, especially if you think about how broken Shirotani really is.
So, they decide to meet again in the same coffee shop. However, Kurose cannot attend that day due to work. Shirotani is curious and ends up at Kurose’s working place. He has to wait in the clinic until he finishes. Kurose finds Shirotani dozing in the waiting room. After talking a bit, things heat up, and Kurose ends up doing the unthinkable: he licks one of Shirotani’s hands. For someone who is thinking about germs and dirt and unable to touch anything with his hands, this is the ultimate shock.
Not only Kurose licks Shirotani’s hand, but he also makes him uncomfortable and starts touching him sexually. Albeit, on the clothing. Shirotani is shocked but lets Kurose have his way. When they finish, Kurose gives him new clothes, since walking around with filthy trousers would be too much for Shirotani.

At this point, I have to say that Kurose is the ultimate Seme. He brings Shirotani to the point he cannot refuse each time, manipulating him in the process. But he doesn’t push as much as for him to close down. Thus, when they go to a restaurant, and Shirotani gets tipsy, Kurose goes a little bit farther. This time, it won’t be with clothes on, and this time he wants more. “What do you want me to do to you?” At this point, it’s evident that Shirotani wants Kurose to taint him.

Ten Count [The Book Depository] [Waterstones] might have a slow pace, but it does feel like Rihito Takarai is Kurose and we, the readers, are Shirotani. He brings us to the point of being a little bit uncomfortable only to let him go further with it next time. We crave for more, and yet have doubts. Shirotani is undoubtedly a very damaged individual, but Kurose also has his secrets. The counselor has something more to him than meets the eye.
