Loki: Journey into Mystery. In Limbo.

Loki ends up in Limbo in this new issue of Journey into Mystery [The Book Depository] [Waterstones]. He orders Hellhound to bring him there so that he can convince Surtur of giving him a weapon. However, to convince him he’ll need to play tricks. Surtur not only wants to destroy Asgard, but also the whole Universe. It seems that staying in Limbo has its side-effects.

Loki doesn’t go alone. The magpie is with him, and it knows that his oath to Surtur is but void. Pay attention on Loki’s words, since he is a deceiver by nature. Even if he wants to do good, he’s still the God of Lies.

One thing is to enter Limbo, and the other thing is to exit Limbo. Fortunately Loki remembers a great amount of stories. Odin was in Limbo too, and he used a mystery exit to arrive back in Asgard. So, Loki uses the same path. Thanks to the aid of a Dwarf, he makes it back just in time to retreive another weapon.

While all this is happening, back on Earth the alliance between Mefisto and Hela is uneasy. The dead Valkiries are but eager to enter into a fight. The funny thing is that they’re waiting for Loki in a garden, and there’re houses nearby. And, as it happens, there’s a kid taking a long look from a window. This only shows to us how delicate Loki’s plan is. If something goes wrong, Midgard will have more than one problem to face!

Now, the next weapon Loki wants need convincing. He needs to steal something that Odin treasures. In breaking and stealing the weapon, Loki is surely gaining points on the naughty list. Loki is just following Thor’s instructions: do whatever it takes to safe Asgard. When Thor ended up in prison, Loki visited him and asked him what would he do if he had a chance to help in the mess. However, Loki isn’t as straightforward as Thor is. And so, he’ll play tricks on everyone and everything.

Loki manages to have allies after putting a master plan in place. He manges to have Surtur’s weapon thanks to trickery. And he also convinces the Destroyer to help him. What will his allies say when they see what he has in storage for the big battle?
