Harry Potter 20th Anniversary: are we that old already?
Oh dear! Today is the 20th anniversary of Harry Potter [The Book Depository]. And it makes you wonder: are we that old already? Not really! Yes, it’s Harry Potter’s 20th anniversary, but it’s also the celebration of a great series that opened our minds! Slytherins of the world: we rock because we’ve been hissing during twenty years.
I started reading Harry Potter quite late. I also saw the movies with a delay too. However, arriving late to the party doesn’t mean that you cannot enjoy the magic. So, if you haven’t read Harry Potter yet, you can start now. Yup, never mind the twenty-year delay. (I know, I’m evil!)
I’m not a Potterhead. Although it’s one of my fandoms, and I’m a mix of Slytherin and Ravenclaw (Raverin?), I take it lightly. I’m re-reading the books in a relaxed way. So, I’m taking my sweet time to enjoy the magic again. In fact, I’m discovering more things in the books now that I’m older.
Perhaps that’s the magic of Harry Potter: to enhance the imagination of kids and adults through time. Because let’s be honest, Harry Potter will be there in another twenty years firing imaginations up!
My favorite characters are Snape, Hermione, and Luna. My favorite house is Slytherin. And, I must admit it, I hate Harry Potter. (He’s annoying!) I loved the wands, the magic, the spells, and Hogwarts. To be honest, what’s not to love?
So, happy Harry Potter Anniversary Potterheads! Let’s hiss another twenty more years and enjoy the magic in the books, the films, and the merchandise!

Wonderful post! It’s amazing how much time flies – almost like a snitch that can’t be caught. Happy Harry Potter bday!
Thank you!!! Let’s celebrate it again during the next 20 years :p
Re-reading the series is up soon on my list of books. I’d like to rediscover all the little magical details again. I think I’m in the same camp as you -it’s one of my fandoms, but I’m not a Potterhead per say. Also, Ravenclaw for the win! 😉
Hehehehe when you read it again you always discover more details 😉 Yay for Ravenclaw! 😀
I can’t believe Harry Potter is that old already. It makes me feel old lol
LOL true…
I didn’t read HP from the get go either – I started them when book 3 was already out. But it wasn’t until Book 4, Goblet of Fire, that I fell head over heels. That book is still my fave of the series. But despite adoring the books, I consider myself a pretty laid back fan. I’m not hardcore haha, but I do love it. 😀
Awwww cool! 😀 For me, Snape is king! Suuuuch a good character :3
