Black Widow Vol. 1: S.H.I.E.L.D.’s Most Wanted

Today we’re going to explore Black Widow, S.H.I.E.L.D.’s Most Wanted [The Book Depository]. If you love spy stories with Americans and a sexy Russian, you’re going to love this new permutation of Natasha. The use of colors is very smart. I’ve seen clever uses of color, but this one really does the job. The story is mesmerizing, intriguing and with lots of action. In short, this is a great read if you’re up for trouble.

Natasha is deadly. She’s the best in S.H.I.E.L.D.’s ranks. However, she’s the most wanted by everyone! We start reading following Natasha’s steps running away from the S.H.I.E.L.D. So, what’s going on?

[SPOILERS: yes, there are spoilers in this post. I love the Black Widow, and so far I find this trade one of the best out there!]

Natasha is the best. There’s no doubt about it. And she kicks a lot of asses in this trade. But we start reading a little bit confused: she is running away because she has stolen something. It turns out she is being blackmailed by one of the baddies that we’ll encounter in this comic book. But the question is: is he the worst of them?

They have information about her that would jeopardize her identity. So, she agrees to do a job for the Tiger bad guy. So, what’s the job about? She needs to get a list. To get it she travels to Russia and goes to her old school where she was trained to be an assassin. But, she finds more people looking for the same information. And also a kid who guts her.

Yes, she is in trouble. Fortunately, an old mate from the school saves her. It looks like there are some people creating a new deadlier school not so far away from them. And the info she needs is in that new school.

We end up meeting an old mate of Natasha’s. She ended up being too jealous and decided to create a school of her own, and get super strong to face Natasha. Although they won’t fight in this trade, the door is open to find a great encounter in the future. So, they give her the list.

But, when she’s back in the US, things go astray. In trying to save an agent from S.H.I.E.L.D., the list is destroyed. And with that, she has to face a grim future. Whatever the villain has on her, is going to be public in no time.

That means that she’ll have to face old enemies, and even new friends. Natasha hasn’t always been right. In fact, she’s an excellent assassin. But her past is here to bite her.

How will she handle all this mess? We’ll know in the future. But after seeing her steal some gear from no other than Iron Man. We all know that Stark has a weakness for active and beautiful women. Well, Natasha used that to steal from him. Why? Because she needed the gadget for something else.

Don’t miss this comic book! It’s very fast. It has lots of action, and it’s all surprises. Pay attention to all the details in the artwork. It’s amazing!
