Shelfie and Super Cute Funko Pops
It’s been a while since I last featured super cute Funko Pops. This time I decided to add to the pot a shelfie. The list contains ten gorgeous Pops and ten amazing books. (Well, more than ten if you take a closer look at the shelfie.) As a Marvelite, I have an enormous amount of super cute and badass Pops. However, I decided to add Harley Quinn to the pot. And when you see her with her matching book, you’re going to laugh a bit. Or at least, that’s what I hope.
Let’s start with the shelfie, shall we? I have recently changed the shelf and I also re-ordered it with new books!
Mini Pops make great companions for shelves where there’s a few space available. This shelf, in particular, has YA books and Norse Mythology. I know, the mix is a little bit weird, but I love to do things like that. As long as I’m able to find the books I want, I think I’ll be okay.
Harley Quinn is the Queen of Making things badly! Thus, I decided to match her with a very funny book: The Joy of Doing Things Badly
. She is chaotic but fun, just as this book. Plus, the colors are just perfect for each other.
But if you want a master of doing things in a chaotic way, consider to bring home a Loki Pop. I know, that can be challenging. You cannot really trust Loki in any way. However, you can trust Loki’s Army. So, I matched him with Geek Anthropology of Loki’s Army
, a guide on Loki and his fandom. If you want to discover more things about Loki, fall in love with Tom Hiddleston (if you haven’t done it yet), and discover the greatness of the fandom, please consider reading this book.
So what about putting some magic into our lives? We can do it with Doctor Strange. I love this Pop in particular: it’s so golden and sparkly that it makes you want to meditate. So, I matched him with the Invisible Man
because I love the cover and because of the Astral state in which the Pop lives. That’s why it’s so golden.
What about Ms. Marvel (Kamala Kan)? She’s super cute and a badass character. Plus, she gives positive energy to teen girls as well. I matched her with Ms. Marvel Vol. 3: Crushed
, one of the trades from her series. She’s just awesome! If you haven’t read the comics yet, give them a try. You won’t regret it.
We have to acknowlege that some of the best Superheroes out there wear hoodies and not capes. I’m talking about Spider-Gwen. She’s amazing! I love her and her comics. Plus, her fashion tunes with me completely! So, I matched her with Do The Gods Wear Capes?
. I love reading books about comics, and this one is a nice one. A little bit boring at times, to be honest, but very interesting. It looks like that modern Gods wear spandex.
But perhaps it’s not the Gods you have in mind, but those that are found in the myths. Norse Mythology has a great array of fantastic Gods. But we can also find heroes like Ragnar, who raided UK for years. Okay, that’s not so heroic, but for the Vikings was. That’s why I matched him with The Penguin Book of Norse Myths: Gods Of The Vikings
. I love this book. It’s simple, but has lots of information. And it also tells you how little of the myths arrived to our days. (Sad, but it’s true.)
And from the far past, let’s go back to the future! I got this version of Doctor Emmet Brown in a Lootcrate box. He’s amazing (and a little bit crazy). So, I decided to match him with the Neuromancer
. I know, it can be a somewhat weird match, but it’s all about the future.
Perhaps, what we need it’s to enter into a fantasy world with Killian Jones. The inspiration for this character can be found in The Princess Bride
. I have no idea if you’ve read the book (or seen the movie), but I can tell you that this book is one of my favorites! You can notice how torn apart the book is. I cannot remember how many times I’ve read it. So, I highly recommend you this masterpiece.
I know, I’m suck a nerd. I didn’t arrive to the levels of Sheldon, but I’m close. If you like all things nerd, perhaps you’ll love American Nerd: The Story of My People
. It’s one of the nerdiest books I’ve ever read. It’s super interesting and it tells you quite a nerdy story. Give it a try!
And to finish with all things nerdy, I’d like to do it with Jillian Holtzmann. Let’s take a moment to appreciate those goggles. Also, let’s take a week to dive into Nerds: How Dorks, Dweebs, Techies, and Trekkies Can Save America and Why They Might Be Our Last Hope
. Let’s be real: we not only rule the world, we’re going to save it!
