Fandom Friday: 5 Fandoms I could never get into

This fandom Friday is all about fandoms I could never get into. Not because I didn’t want to, but because they didn’t tune with me. Although I stopped watching some shows, most of the fandoms on this list are just non-tuning casualties. I guess, we tend to follow some and just ignore others. That’s geek life.

1. Game of Thrones.

I was a fan during some seasons, but I had to stop watching the show. I had to invest too much of my emotions, and the violence was getting my nerves. And even if Khaleesi was one of my favorite characters, I could never get into it completely. Too much waiting for the creepy blue creatures to come down and mess everything up. Sorry, but if you’re going to show me magic, do it in abundance. Otherwise, I cannot get what’s all about.

2. Hannibal.

This was another impossible fandom and show for me. True, there are some cute gifs out there, but since the original movie creeps me out, I’m not sure I would be able to handle this one. I’ve seen fantastic artwork out there too. But not even that can convince me.

3. The Walking Dead.

Although I thought to dive into The Walking Dead, it’s impossible for me. There’s too much blood, especially since the beginning of the last season. I can’t stand such amounts of violence on screen, and too many emotional upheavals. I’m sorry, but there’s no way I can get along with this one.

4. Twilight.

I love almost anything with vampires in it. Alas, I could never get into Twilight. I saw the movies, even read the books (in French. Don’t ask me why. I suppose vampires sound better in French?) The whole story needed something extra. There was always something missing, and the leading female character was so weak. I’m not sorry at all I couldn’t get into this one. In fact, I’m pretty happy!

5. The Hunger Games.

To be fair, I just watched the movies. And even if I enjoyed them, it was impossible to me to jump on the Hunger Games train. For some reason I’m unable to tune with this fandom, so much so, I’m not sure I want to read the books. Which is pretty odd considering I love reading books. There’s something that tells me: nope. (I know, an entirely illogical reason, but, what can I do?)
