Yay! I got geeky MOO cards and stickers with dePepi’s logo and the new icon I use on my social media. I usually order mini matte Moo cards, but this time, because of the colors, I went for shiny ones. They came super fast, and they’re super cute. As usual, the quality is superb. I also added some extra to the pot: MOO stickers. The booklet has 90 stickers. I should have enough to play decorating envelopes and cards when I send the prizes of my giveaways. However, I know that I’ll be playing with those and my new planner. So, I might run out quickly.
So, the big question is: why do I need mini cards if I’m not in Japan? Well, if you write a blog, these might come in handy when you’re networking or meeting new people. My blog address is easy, but I prefer to give something away that they might make people remember me. This might be one of those tiny customs I imported from Japan, but I feel it’s better to be in someone’s pocket. Even if they don’t check you out at that very moment, or even if they did follow your Twitter account, finding your card in their dirty jeans days later makes them remember you!
As promised, here you have all about Mr. Wonderful schedule books! For me, Mr. Wonderful creates the perfect schedule books for bloggers: lots of cute pages, tons of stickers, and practical stuff that you’ll find in them. Mr. Wonderful is a brand from Barcelona, Spain. After eight years in Japan, I thought I wouldn’t find cute schedule books anywhere else. I was wrong: I found them when I came back home! These schedule books are inspired by Japanese ones. Of that, I’m certain. However, when I started purchasing them three years ago, they were only available in one language: Spanish. This year, however, they added other languages to the lot. And so, I bought it in Italian.
I buy them online. Why? I had the opportunity to go to any shop and buy one, however, when you order them online you get extras: a cute bag where you can place it, or where you can put your favorite goodies. And a small thank you gift: a lollypop. So, if you buy one of these: do it online! The extra perks are worth it!
Yesterday was a big day! I went to the Geek Girl Brunch Brighton Ghostbusters edition, and it was a blast! We met to eat in a haunted restaurant in Brighton, but the big thing was the movie. Don’t listen to the haters: the movie is a masterpiece. It honors the previous films; it swaps genders without being a feminist claim, and it’s super funny. So, before I review the movie itself, let me tell you how was the brunch. We met quite late, around 3 pm at a Mexican restaurant called El Mexicano, where there has been ghost-seeing. Nope, we didn’t see any ghost, but we had a lovely time eating and playing games. We gave away Ghostbusters Funko Pops, and we got ready for the huge thing: the film.
The food was lovely. Ghost hunting was impossible since the ghost of the restaurant didn’t show up, but the whole brunch was a blast. We played games with Tarot and Ghostbuster cards, and we arrived just on time to the cinema!
[SPOILER ALERT: you’ll find spoilers for the movie from now on. If you keep reading you’ll be spoiled!]
Tada~! Another fantastic unboxing Marvel Collector Corps post with Women of Power! Funny, and at the same time, not funny at all, when you have the mail carrier ringing your bell at 7.30 am in the morning. I jumped like it was the end of the world! Why? I was sleeping like a rock! Every time the mail carrier comes around 7 am in the morning and rings the bell I jump and get scared. I could tell you many reasons, but I think it might be connected to the Big Earthquake I experience in Tokyo back in 2011. It wasn’t until I had the Women of Power box between my hands that I could start processing what was going on: cool goodies inside a box. And this time, it’s all about Women of Power!
I must admit that I’ve seen spoilers around. I couldn’t escape them since I saw everything on Instagram. However, I don’t mind them. For me, unboxing is an experience that has to be savored with your senses, and that implies touching the goodies. As you know, some of my favorite Marvel Superheroes were featured in the box! No wonder I was super excited to find a super cool Spider-Gwen tee in it! (I’ve been fangirling about that tee during all morning!)
We’ve had a Comic Book Swap on May, idea that Stacey (Geeks and Lattes) shared on Geek Girls x Bloggers, our geeky group on Facebook. We have lots of swaps and activities in the group, and so it’s not surprising that many of us jumped on the wagon of swapping some comics. I was paired with Michelle (Geeked out Girl), and I had a super surprise! We were supposed to swap one trade, but she sent me two! I got Young Avengers and Wonder Woman. Imagine my face when I discovered that two trades were waiting for me.
Then I panicked. I’ve been very busy lately, and I also had a nervous breakdown, so I automatically thought I had misread the rules of the swap. Talking with Michelle, I discovered that she had sent me two instead of one out of her kindness. So, I decided to add a postcard from the UK.
I’m so happy I took part in Geek Girls x Bloggers Spring Fling Gift Exchange! Although there were some issues along the way, I had so much fun. First, because we did it through our favorite group on Facebook. All lady bloggers in the group are amazing, they write super interesting posts, and it’s wonderful to be friends with many of them. Second, because this Spring Fling Gift Exchange was hosted by From Girly to Nerdy. And third, because my surprise mate was Ashlee (Her Geekery)! If the combination of stars that made this happens isn’t magical, I don’t know what it is. But, I loved every single bit of it!
I’ll start with the little accident. I got a pair of super cute Loki earrings to die for. Unfortunately, Express your Fandom (a shop on Etsy), didn’t pack them well, and they came broken and bent. One of the horns on one of the Loki’s helmet was broken, and the hooks were super bent. Fortunately, the shop owners are super friendly, and they refunded the money to Ashlee. And, what do you think she did? (You gotta love the girl!)
Unboxing Marvel Collector Corps Captain America Civil War Box at 7.30 am in the morning wasn’t exactly my plan for this Saturday. But there was the postman, early bird, ringing on my home’s bell and making me jump off bed. Yesterday I was off with high fever, so I was mainly snoring the day with meds, sweating and with a miserable face. When I heard the the bell ring and I saw the hour I wanted to kick whoever-it-was butt. Seriously. Till I saw the box! I must admit that I was wating this box with some concerns. As you remember, in my previous location, getting the box turned out to be a nightmare. After changing location it took me a while to get back into Marvel Collector Corps again. Happily, Royal Mail is the one in charge of bringing the boxes home! Yay! Coz the next one in June has one of my favorite topics ever: Women of Power! [So, even if I have to go to fetch the box myself through Herculean works, I will have that one!] So, it was Civil War that made me subscribe again.
So, we arrive at the big moment: SPOILERS! If you click on reading more you’re going to find all the contents of the box (gorgeous items, btw). If you haven’t been spoiled yet through any other blogs, and if you don’t mind to be spoiled, or if you haven’t got this box but want to know what’s inside: keep on reading!
Today our lessons on Geek Anthropology topic is all about what happens when Superhero fashion makes you feel super. It’s not the same walking around with a plain tee than rocking around a Spider-Gwen one. So, what happens when a fan cosplays or wears an outfit that resembles that of their loved Superhero? As you know, I’ve recently had a nervous breakdown. To have more energy and feel better, I’ve been rocking around everyday cosplay fashion items that are into my wardrobe: Captain Marvel’s sweater, Captain America Sweater, Spider-Gwen cardigan and tee, and tons of cool tees. Every time I feel down I tend to dress up into the items that resemble the most the uniforms that my favorite Superheroes wear. But why? What does the Superhero costume have that makes me feel stronger than I am? What does the Superhero costume give me that makes me keep on going despite the doctor assuring me that I should be hibernating? Does Superhero fashion give us Superpowers?
Welcome to another Loot Crate Level Up Accessory Box unboxing! Today I’m unboxing the DEAD! I know, it sounds spooky but if you’re a fan of the Walking Dead and Deadpool you might like this one. Plus, this time, I have one of the goodies as a giveaway! How cool is that!? Please, remember that this post contains SPOILERS of the contents of the box. If you’re still waiting for yours, I highly recommend you to refrain from reading it (if you want to be surprised, that is). However, if you’re thinking about getting a Loot Crate subscription or you wish to see the contents of this month’s Level Up Accessory Box, I invite you to continue reading and take part in my giveaway! You’re going to love it! I’m sure of that!
And without much ado, let’s click on reading more to find all the goodness!
I couldn’t wait any longer! Here is a sneak peek of Geek Girls x Bloggers Valentine 2016 Cards Swap & Surprise Valentine Present!! I’m waiting for some cards, but I think I got almost all of them! The official blog posts will be announced from the 20th on From Girlie to Nerdy and Dina Farmer. [Don’t worry, I have permission to create this SPOILER post!] These are two separate swaps that got mingled together. We would be swapping Valentine Geeky cards with one another, and then we would be the secret Valentine of someone. I found both proposals irresistible, so I had to join. And, as you can see from the picture above, it’s been amazing!
The happiest thing has been to get mail from the ladies who run my favorite blogs! Also, I got new stamps. Yes! I do collect stamps from around the world (I’ve been doing that since I was a little kid.) So, getting stamps with Batman jumping, hearts and US flags is very special for me. It sounds silly but those count as presents! Not only I got a handmade Loki postcard, but I also got super geeky other ones and even a small gift: a tiny rubber that I plan not to use because it’s too cute!!!
