MCM London Comic Con 2017 (+ Nichelle Nichols!!!)

Yesterday I went to the MCM London Comic Con 2017, and I met Nichelle Nichols! How? I queued to get a picture with her. [SPOILER ALERT: I look hideous in the picture, but I don’t care because I finally met Uhura!] But, before showing you how awesome she looks in the picture and how horrible I look thanks to the crappy photographer, let’s talk about the Con.

Yesterday was super hot. I hoped to have a fresh time in the Con; however, the amount of people was staggering. So, our small group ended up sweating all the time. This year cosplayers were amazing again. I took a ton of pictures, but I’ll only share the best ones.

Happy Geek Pride Day 2017!

Happy Geek Pride Day 2017! I almost missed the day because of work. But, worry not, I remembered just in time. So, what are we celebrating today? All Geekdom! That’s what we’re celebrating. So, how can you celebrate the day?

I plan to watch a geek movie tonight. But, if you have no time for that, you can always take some little time to pet your Funko Pops, or take a geeky selfie. Or, you can phone a friend of yours and plot your next visit to the cinema!

Or, if you prefer, use geeky fashion today. Whatever you feel good doing. Heck, even screaming out loud that you’re a geek will work! Because today is our day!

Now, before the day arrives at its end: do something geek, even if it’s small. You’ll feel proud.

Note: I chose a Mr.Wonderful pic this year. That heart is too cute, don’t you think? Mr.Wonderful’s style is very sweet.

Thor: Ragnarok is so metal it got me rolling!

Thor: Ragnarok is so metal that it got me on a creative spree today. I couldn’t stop thinking about Loki’s horns and Thor’s Hammer. Poor Mjolnir is the first victim of Hela. But, is she as bad as she seems? Where does she get the makeup? It’s most likely that she gets it from the same shop the Winter Soldier does.

Despite the full trailer being an ode to Thor, Loki has created enough havoc online as to provoke a hurricane. Seconds, he appears only seconds, and he’s making all ovaries explode! Tumblr is on fire! Why? Because the Trickster is horny, and because we’re left to explore an almost hammer-less Thor. (Spoiler alert: he has two Hammers and not only Mjolnir!)

Now, if you want to share a laugh, and explore what the trailer has to offer, I invite you to download this ode to horny helmets, naughty guyliners, and hammers.

Thor: Ragnarok Teaser Trailer Reaction

I’m so hooked on Thor: Ragnarok teaser trailer! Thor sees how Hela destroys his hammer with style, a lot of style. We see Loki having fun with knives, and we have a flair for comedy thanks to the Hulk. But there are several points that we need to geek out loud thanks to this trailer.

Thor appears hanging from chains into a lava abyss. I bet that must be Hela’s realm. Hela’s awesome and super spooky. For starters, she appears with her traditional appearance in the comics: with lots of horns and very intimidating. She’s alluring, yes. But, she’s also very intimidating. We get to see for the first time too Valkyrie.

Valkyrie is working for the Grandmaster. And who is he? The Grandmaster is one of the Elders of the Universe. And, he’s the brother of the Collector. We know that from the comics.

Currently reading: Six of Crows by Leigh Bardugo

I cannot wait until I finish the book! Six of Crows [The Book Depository] is too good to be real! Not only I got hooked because this amazing Ocean’s Eleven has captivated my heart, but also because all the characters are flesh and bones. Six dangerous outcasts are on a mission: to break into an impenetrable fortress to save the world. Everybody says it’s an impossible heist. And yet, our six heroes will try the impossible, despite the odds, and themselves. They love each other and hate each other. So, I’m reading at a frenzy ratio to know if some of them are going to kiss or slit their throats open!

Wonder Woman’s new trailer points at a great movie coming up!

Have you seen the new Wonder Woman’s new trailer? It points at a great movie coming up! That’s why I’m so happy with it. However, I keep being cautious. Why? Because I didn’t like what DC has done with their movies lately. I haven’t liked any single one of them, to be honest. So, Wonder Woman seems to come as a great relief for me.

It appears that Wonder Woman is a kick-ass Amazon who will help humanity during WWII. My only hope is that DC won’t mess her up since she is one of their pillars. Although I’m a Marvelite, I do like some DC Superheroes. And one of them happens to be Wonder Woman. So, if they mess her up, I won’t be hitting the cinemas for a DC movie ever again! (Yup, I’m that harsh)

Do What You Can’t. Happy International Women’s Day!

Do what you can’t! I know it isn’t the piece you were waiting for the International Women’s Day. However, this is it. Do you know how many times I’ve listened to “you can’t” in my life? A zillion times!

Go to Japan?

You can’t.

Write a book about Loki?

You can’t.

Paragliding?

You can’t.

FairyLoot Unboxing February 2017

Yay! I made another unboxing! The FairyLoot unboxing February 2017 was super fun. First, because I got the box in record time (it was sent on Friday, and I got it on Saturday); and, second, because the contents are amazing! If you’re a bookworm obsessed with fantasy and science fiction, this box is an excellent idea. Plus, it has something called reading buddies. You get a card with a code. Someone else will get the same code. You post a picture, unboxing video or whatever on your social media, use your code and find your buddy! So, I hope that my potential future partner is out there and is as crazy as I am. Please, post something on your social media so I can find you!

This post (and the video) contain tons of spoilers. Boxes are still on their way for many people, so if you’re waiting for yours and don’t want to be spoiled, I recommend you to stop reading here. And, of course, stay away from the video. If you aren’t a subscriber or you don’t mind spoilers, keep on reading and discover the treasure!

World Anthropology Day: the Art of Geek Observation

Today is the World Anthropology Day, according to the American Anthropological Association (aka AAA). What better way to celebrate it than exploring the art of geek observation? Anthropologists observe what people do, why they do it, how they do it, and even when they do it. To explore a culture is to explore humanity. But can only anthropologists engage in the art of observation? Can we, as observed beings, also become the ones who observe?

Usually, the ones observing what’s going on are anthropologists. They watch, interact and take part into the object of study. But can we, as geeks, do the same? We have the idea that Anthropologists are either “Indiana Jones” or like dull academic creatures. However, we, geeks, can be anthropologists too.

J.K. Rowling’s Wizarding World Loot Crate Unboxing

So, it happened with J.K.Rowling’s Wizarding World Loot Crate unboxing! I made a video! It took me three days of wait until I could open my box and prepare myself to talk in front of a camera. This box came quite late since Loot Crate came up with some problems getting all the items. As I understood, we had to choose our House, and they would send us times from our House. However, items came mixed. To my delight, I got a tee from Slytherin. It seems that they’ll be sending a House-themed box next time. I hope they do since I was expecting that from this box.

When I was sorted in Pottermore, I got Ravenclaw. Then I tried again, and I got into Slytherin. So, I suppose I must be a mix of them: Raverin. Although I end up rooting for Slytherin, I have to confess that I do have Ravenclaw traits. Besides, I love Luna as well!
