Are we talking about Funko Pops and more celebrations today? I know, my birthday was last week, so what am I celebrating now? As it happens, April is a hot potato within my family. We have tons of birthdays and anniversaries throughout the month. This means that we spend a month exchanging presents, cakes, and eating pizza. (Pizza is a must in an Italian household!)
Plus, we have Guardians of the Galaxy here! Since I promised to a friend that we would go together, I need to wait for a week before hitting the cinema. This means that I’m going to go mad during this week. So, be prepared for some Guardians spam on my Instagram account.
Another Funko Friday with tons of Funko Pops, books and my birthday! Yes, today is my birthday, and I intend to have loads of fun. And I start by fangirling all about Guardians of the Galaxy vol.2. I can’t wait to hit the cinema and watch the movie! But, for the time being, I need to relax with the Pops and a magazine I bought.
But, there’s more! I also include some pics of the week that you can find on my Instagram. From here you can get some rad ideas for gifts. If you’re a nerdette like me, or if you have geeky friends, I’m sure you can find something that will suit you.
This week I have some interesting Funko Pops with their book partners. I like to match Pops with books because of their color or because of their characters. This week I start with Gamora and Sarah J. Maas Throne of Glass [The Book Depository] series. Gamora is one of the greatest assassin’s in the Galaxy, and so the main character of Throne of Glass.
We start with a killer combination, but there are more fascinating matches.
It’s been a while since I last featured super cute Funko Pops. This time I decided to add to the pot a shelfie. The list contains ten gorgeous Pops and ten amazing books. (Well, more than ten if you take a closer look at the shelfie.) As a Marvelite, I have an enormous amount of super cute and badass Pops. However, I decided to add Harley Quinn to the pot. And when you see her with her matching book, you’re going to laugh a bit. Or at least, that’s what I hope.
Let’s start with the shelfie, shall we? I have recently changed the shelf and I also re-ordered it with new books!
Welcome to Funko Friday! We’re going to take a look at some Funko Pops and books on Instagram this week. The topic is magic and independent women who kick ass. I love all these Pops but for different reasons: some are thieves, others are adorable, others are just deadly. But all of them have something in common: they’re adorable! How can we say no to a Pop? Since my Pops acompany me while reading books, I chose books related to them. Take a look at the pictures and think for a while why I chose that book for that Pop. Then, read my reasons. Did you get it right?
Percival is not what he seems. After watching Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them I was bugged with him. He wasn’t exactly him, but someone else who tried to steal magic (the suitcase). Hence, Percival’s best book companion is Thief’s Magic [The Book Depository]! Although the book isn’t as simple as that, I think that Percival would have a heart attack with it.
Welcome to Funko Friday! Today I’m going to talk about Funko Pops and books on Instagram this week. I’ve changed a bit the way I post on Instagram, and to reflect that I decided to share an appetizer here. Why? Because I love Pops, comics, and books. Yes, for me comic books are books. And so, I start with Valentine’s Day! I got a blind date with a book. Although the unboxing (rather un-wrapping) video will come later on, I can tell you that this made my day! I was quite gloomy, and suddenly I got this mysterious present. It doesn’t say who the sender is nor the sender knows what book I got! (So, unless you tell me who you are, I’m not going to tell you what book was inside before releasing the video. Ha!)
I felt like getting Newt‘s suitcase in a way. You don’t know what’s inside, nor the scope of that magical suitcase. In any case, this idea rocks and I loved it. I also had a blast unwrapping the whole thing. (Yes, I’m still editing the video.)
Welcome to Comics THORsday on Friday. This is a mashup with Funko Friday. Today we’re exploring Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur Vol. 1: Bff (Amazon) along with Uhura. I bought Moon Girl by chance. The cover of the trade is quite funny. Although I couldn’t figure out how a story about an evil dinnosaur could fit in the Marvel Universe, I bought the trade anyway. It was a smart move sin the trade is very funny.
This is a comic for all ages: it’s sweet, smart, and funny. It has a great recipe for having tons of fun. What’s more: it has a great recipe for natural diversity. What do I mean with “natural diversity”? A type of diversity that isn’t forced but it feels like just walking in the streets. The only magical thing here is the dinosaur.
Welcome to Funko Friday! Today we’re going to have fun with DC Suicide Squad Harley Quinn Funko Pop. Although I didn’t like DC’s movie Suicide Squad, I did like Harley Quinn. She is completely bonkers, and incredibly sexy. But she is a walking bomb too. You never know when she’s going to explode!
I find that the Pop is better than the real character. Simply put: this Pop is super cute! She is detailed and has very funky colors. To be honest, this is the funniest Pops I own! My DC collection is starting to look a little bit more promising with a Batgirl and a Harley Pops. (I’m sure it won’t grow too much since I’m not such a DC fan.)
Welcome to Funko Friday! Today we’re talking about Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them Funko Pops. In particular, about the sisters Queenie and Tina Goldstein. These sisters couldn’t be more different, and so, there’s no surprise when taking a look at their Pop counterparts.
Queenie is a stylish woman, and so her Pop is also super stylish. However, Tina’s Pop is pretty nerdy. To have only one of these Pops would be madness since both create a singular duo.
Welcome to Funko Friday! I decided to change the banner and explore why we collect Funko Pop figurines. New year, new banner, a new approach to this adorable section of the blog. Why do we collect Funko Pop figurines? One natural question would be just stating that Pops are too cute to resist. But, that would be misleading. Some people collect Pops, others collect other types of figurines, other people collect Tarot decks and others stamps. So, the question should be: why do we collect stuff?
From ancient times we know that we’ve been hooked on collecting what seemed to be useless junk. Ancient people were buried with their belongings: jewellery, swords, pottery, dead slaves (creepy, I know) and figurines! Striking but true, we’ve been collecting figurines since times immemorial. We started collecting “Gods,” and now we’re collecting Pops. Have we fallen from grace?
