Yay! Fandom Friday is back! This time we’re going to explore five geeky expressions, only my friends would understand. To be fair, choosing only five geeky expressions is pretty hard since I use more than just five. Sometimes I forget who I have in front of me, and I speak in Greek to my friends. Because it was so hard to choose, I decided to feature those geeky expressions I use the most.
1. He’s such a Life-ruiner!
I know, I’m an evil creature: I write an expression and use a gif with another one. I won’t excuse my naughty behavior. When I say that some character is a life-ruiner is good, believe me. It’s true. It means that the character is so perfect that he ruins your life in the most amazing way. In fact, so much so, that you can end up with an ovaries explosion. It isn’t bad, but amazingly good. When someone is so perfect that ruins your life and makes your ovaries explode, it means that you fancy that person to the bone. [Whoever invented the explosion expression has my deepest respect. And nope, it has no puns.]
Welcome to another Funko Friday! Today I want to show you the new Once Upon a Time Pops that arrived some weeks ago. It’s been a bit of an adventure to get my hands on these new Pops, however, here they are! Dark Hook, the Evil Queen, Zelena, and Belle are just stunning! I have the feeling that Funko is getting better in creating new Pops. The details on them are staggering. As you can imagine, I’m euphoric with these new four Pops.
This Fandom Friday is related to books and movies (or shows). These are five fandoms I love because I enjoyed the books and the movies, or the books and the shows. In some cases, I read the books first and then enjoyed the movies. In other cases, I saw the movies first and then enjoyed the books. Whatever the combination, these rock in any of their permutations.
1. LOTR and the Hobbit
I read almost all Tolkien’s books before Lord of The Rings hit the big screen. I was a Tolkienite way before I loved all the movies. Now, LOTR and the Hobbit“> movies are a must-see set for Christmas. Plus, when I miss it too badly, I read the books again. (Please don’t ask me how many times I’ve read the books because I lost count!)
This fandom Friday is all about fandoms I could never get into. Not because I didn’t want to, but because they didn’t tune with me. Although I stopped watching some shows, most of the fandoms on this list are just non-tuning casualties. I guess, we tend to follow some and just ignore others. That’s geek life.
1. Game of Thrones.
I was a fan during some seasons, but I had to stop watching the show. I had to invest too much of my emotions, and the violence was getting my nerves. And even if Khaleesi was one of my favorite characters, I could never get into it completely. Too much waiting for the creepy blue creatures to come down and mess everything up. Sorry, but if you’re going to show me magic, do it in abundance. Otherwise, I cannot get what’s all about.
Fandom Friday is back with a new banner and new look! Before starting with my list of five favorite shows to binge before the year ends, I’d like to explain how this Fandom Friday changes. Until now, I’ve been following the topics of Fandom Friday according to the group Female Geek Bloggers. However, not always the topics tune with me, nor there are topics out there. So, I decided to continue with topics that appear into my mind. I hope to keep it every week, or at least every two weeks. So, which are the shows that are suitable for bidging before the year ends?
1. Once Upon a Time
With the sixth season going on, this is a perfect show to enjoy from now till the year ends. I know, five seasons and an ongoing sixth one can be challenging. But even if you need to keep on binging after 2017 begins, this show worths it! It has fairy tales, badass female characters, and a handsome pirate. What else do you need?
This Fandom Friday is pretty mischievous. We have to list five geeky tattoos that we want or have. I have to confess that I love tattoos, but that I still have none! For years, I’ve been admiring other people’s tattoos and the artistry of some of them. My favorite are the geeky ones, of course. I’m pretty sure that sooner than later I’ll end up with one decorating my skin [says someone who has been saying the same tune since forever!] But I must confess that I am picky! I’ve found few tattoo styles that I love, and that match what I have in mind. Unfortunately, those styles tend to belong to tattoo artists that are located in the States, or that have moved elsewhere! Furthermore, tattoos for me are a very intimate thing. If I get one, you won’t know it. Why? Because the relationship of the art, the canvas and the meaning is a powerful one for me. Even if I had a tattoo on a pretty obvious place, I would not put it on my blog. But I would certainly tell you what it would mean to me if you would meet me in person and you would find that art on my skin. In resume: I consider tattoos works of art that connect body and soul at a different level. In the moment you have one on you, you become walking art. [How cool is that!?]
1. Alice in Wonderland [We’re all mad here!]
As you know, my grandma is called Alice. And if you have read this blog, you know that I share a strong bond with her. It also happens to be a motto that fits well my mom. Women in my family are strong and curious, and all of them have always encouraged me to find my own Wonderland, or at least, to take a look at the world in that way. Indeed, we’re all mad here, in this world. We wouldn’t have the works of art if someone didn’t go mad! We wouldn’t have the science we enjoy today if we hadn’t had any mad scientists. And yes, we wouldn’t have messed this world so much if we happened not to be mad. So, yes, we’re all mad here! So, if I were to decorate my skin with a motto, this would be it! To honor the women in my family and to honor the mad creativity we’re capable of!
This time, Fandom Friday is a Make-Up Friday! Yay! And I get to write it on Saturday… I’ve been too busy this week, so I’m having a slight delay on my posting schedule. But, I’m sure you’re going to enjoy this fandom Friday a lot because I get to talk about my five favorite geeky bloggers and their blogs. I have many favorite blogs, to be honest, but these five are on my top list of all time favorites. Plus, the ladies that write them are super sweet! There’s no other choice but to love them! If you don’t know them yet, please pay them a visit. I’m sure you’ll enjoy them as much as I do. And without much ado, let’s begin!
1. Her Geekery!
I love Her Geekery! Thanks to Ashlee I ended up subscribing to Loot Crate. Have you seen that super cute Pikachu beanie that she has? How can you resist that!? Tell me how! Her blog is fresh, amazing and super cute. SPOILER ALERT: she will make you fall in love with too many wonderful merch. It’s not in her nature to be evil, but thanks to her I ended up having a great collection of stuff. Plus, she was my secret Valentine, and she sent me a wonderful Captain Swan necklace. We share fandoms, tastes and weaknesses. Please visit her blog and enjoy knowing this wonderful blogger. You won’t regret it!
This time, Fandom Friday gets quite personal. We have to disclose 5 geeky things in our purse at all times. Opening the depths and horrors of my purse is quite an intimate thing to share, and a delicate one. Some of the stuff in there is a little bit unusual. Perhaps this is not exactly the contents of a female purse. Don’t worry, I’m not going the MacGyver way… Not yet, at least.
1. Funko Pop Figurines. [Hang on! What did you say!?]
Yes, Funko Pop figurines! I always have some minis into my purse, because I enjoy taking pictures of them when I go out, wherever I might be. Though, it’s usually coffee shops. I sometimes even go out with some full sized pops. Yes, the regular ones. This means that I end up having a super funky purse.
This is a challenging Fandom Friday! Why? I stopped processed sugar intake 33 weeks ago. This means that I have no real favorite cupcakes at the moment. But, since women are cupcakes and men are cookies for me (yes, I call them that), I can share my five favorite cupcakes. I know, this is changing the topic a bit, but it makes more sense to me since sugar cupcakes are out of my life. Thus, let’s take a look at what I call cupcakes and how sweet I find them, shall we?
1. Emma Swan, the Savior Cupcake. (OUAT)
Emma Swan, aka the Savior Cupcake, is an unusual one: depending on the day it can be sweet or bitter. If you are a piercing-eyed, smoldering pirate, you might find that it’s all sweets and peaches. If you’re an Evil Regal, you can find it bitter at times. This is, however, a cupcake for everyone. Sweet, bitter, tasty and nasty, it will save your day always. This is an irresistible cupcake. Beware, though: it creates addiction!
Another Fandom Friday that I love! Today we’re going to list five Womances I ship in honor of Galentine’s Day. For the most part: I ship it all the way. So, I’m listing those ships that I consider being hot, funny or that spark all types of naughty thoughts. You already know some of them, so there won’t be many surprises here. And without much ado, we start!
1. Swan Queen!!! (OUAT)
You already know that I ship Captain Swan on my top ship ranking, but Swan Queen is another favorite ship of mine. So, what’s up with the Savior and the Evil Queen? Sass, friendship and comprehension. Granted that if they had romantic quarrels, they would end up using magic for sure, but they look so cute and hot together! [And, as you know, there is this triplet where Captain Swan Queen would be explosive!] These two women are so different, and yet they complement each other well. So, they win this week’s top ranking!
