Brighton Geeks & Bloggers had a lovely and super nerdy Geek Girls Versus Brunch! Scruffy Little Nerd Herder, Debbie Bridge and I had a wonderful time together. Not only we chose our sides, but we also talked a lot about blogging, discovered more about each other’s passions and got to exchange comics! Okay, more about that in a minute. But before, let’s fangirl about the fact that we had loads of fun, shall we?
Emma came from Portsmouth. It took her about an hour to get to Brighton by car. [Saturday is a busy day, so expect roads to be packed!] Debbie came from Hove, which is just glued to Brighton, and as you know, I walked till I arrived at the meeting point. I happen to live at the top of a killing hill. When you walk downhill, it’s all peaches and cream. When you come back home, you have to climb it! Most of the time I refuse to take the bus. The target: get gorgeous legs, just by walking down and up the killing hill from hell.
Brighton Geeks & Bloggers is getting playful. We have a Geek Girls Versus Brunch! (Sorry guys! We’ll make something similar next time, for everyone. But this time, Scruffy Little Nerd Herder and me are organizing this. It means that Portsmouth & Brighton (& Hove, okay I won’t forget you guys!) are joining forces and meeting for a Versus Brunch! So, what’s all this about?
We’re going to meet with fellow geek girls bloggers from Portsmouth & Brighton for a themed brunch: versus. Why Versus? Because of the upcoming movies Batman versus Superman and Captain America Civil War! We’ll need to pick up a side, and geek out heavily this March 19, from 1 pm. We’re going to eat, talk, and end up at the local comic book store to treat ourselves with some geek goodness! (So, you thought we wouldn’t end up there, do you!?)
Brighton Geeks & Bloggers had a very nice start. Fascinating bloggers attended the first meeting, and we talked about blogging while we took nice warm coffee in Presuming Coffee House aka Presuming Ed. We had a whole room for us, and we enjoyed a relaxing and friendly evening in which we discovered about the world of performance, mushrooms, designs, manga, Japan and geeky topics.
Debbie (debbiebridge.com) introduced us to the world of performing arts and gave us a unique view of how to approach geeky subjects like Deadpool for blogging. She travelled around the world sharing her experiences on her travelling blog (bridgethetravelgap.com).
Chris (catmachine.com) explained to us about writing and getting inspirations from around us letting the magic flow through our fingers. He’s been writing since 2006. Sometimes once a day, and now he’s taking a slower path.
Brighton Geeks & Bloggers are meeting for the first time! This is a group for Geeks and Bloggers who love to chat, discover new things, and help each other with the difficult task of writing! As you know, sometimes being a blogger can be tough, especially when you have a writing blog! So, the aim of this meetup is to engage in sparking the fire of writing, knowing more about blogging and being better in promoting our blogs out there.
So, what are we going to do? For the first meeting, we’re going to leave it quite loose, but you can leave in comments what you’d like to do next. Or, you could take the poll and fire passions all over the world from Brighton! Are you ready for it?
