Today I’m unboxing a super cool box: Wootbox Retro II, August 2017. I got it for free from Wootbox. They contacted me some months ago, and I agreed to make an unboxing and share all the good and evil. I got no other payment than the box itself (and all the goodies inside). I know that bloggers do things differently. Usually, you get paid for unboxings. But I wanted to be free from any guilt if I didn’t like things inside of the box. So, Wootbox sent me the swag, and when I got it this weekend, I recorded the video. And thanks to the box they sent me I spent part of my weekend remembering my childhood.
So, what do I do with unboxings? I open the boxes in front of the camera and record whatever happens next all at once. I can only make this once since I have no interest whatsoever in promoting things I despise. I can edit whatever disaster happens during the adventure, but I cannot redo it again. Once I open the box, it’s done. If I like it, you’ll notice it because I make weird sounds while I fangirl. If I don’t, I’ll start complaining or saying something negative about it.
Spoiler alert: I loved this box! I’ve been torturing everyone in the house with childhood memories because of it. Did you play with the Gameboy? Did you like Mario? Then, this box was perfect for you!
I got an Official Mario Stress Ball Shell. Other people got either a mushroom, a surprise box or a shy Boo. But, I’m glad I got the shell because we have a shell cushion! It’s funny how the odds work. Sometimes you want something, and you never get it. Sometimes you don’t think about it, and you get just the perfect item. So now we have a super rad shell cushion and a shell stress ball. Ha!
There was a great (and difficult to assemble) official Seiya Agaruma figurine inside the box. It took me ages to just put three parts together. Lame, I know. Just lame that it took me so much time to just put three pieces together!
I got Gemini. Other people might have gotten Taurus, Sagittarius, Aquarius or Cygnus. (I liked Cygnus and Aquarius when I was a kid…) I know that many people find Saint Seiya to be one of the worst anime out there, but I happen to love it.
Then I got a Gameboy Piggy Bank! I think this is my favorite from the whole box. I needed a piggy bank, but I was unable to find one that I loved. And I just got the best version of any piggy bank ever! As I said in the video, I loved the Gameboy, but I never owned one. I used to just play on a friend’s one. It was rad and I loved it!
The tee is just perfect! It’s an official Bandicoot t-shirt. This is also a retro game. Many people might know it for sure. But, for those who have no clue: take a chance to play it! It’s super fun!
And, finally, a pin. How to better represent retro gaming than a gamepad? I loved the pin so much, and I already put it in my bag.
I’m not a gamer, but all the things that I got in this Retro II box reminded me of my childhood. Although it took me far too much to assemble that Bandai figurine, I must say that I love it! Gemini is too shiny for my Funko collection, but I’ve already found the perfect shiny place for him.
Also, the box has a pattern inside, so you can use it for other stuff! I didn’t say that in the video because I realized later on. I love it!!
So, do I recommend this box? Absolutely yes! All the merchandise is official, and it has excellent quality. I already knew Bandai figurines (I bought many when I was in Japan), and the rest it’s just perfect! The tee fits me perfectly, the pin is lovely, and now I can save coins in a super rad piggy bank!
Next month’s box is villains! And I saw Vegeta out there. Ha! If you like Street Fighter, Dragon Ball Z, Lord of the Rings and Pirates of the Caribbean, this box if for you!
Note: there are NO affiliate links in this post. I only share things that I love. And I loved this box! Just grab yours! The next one seems to be as good as this one!
