My 2016 movie list.

I should have shared my 2016 movie list months ago, but I didn’t find the free time. I decided to share the films from January onwards, and then go on with my list. Some movies were on my movie list, but I didn’t go to see them due to different reasons. However, I plan to watch them all!

February

This is one of the most entertaining Superhero movies I’ve seen. I love that it’s irreverent, colorful and the humor makes of it a blast. Deadpool was not only fun, but it was also one of those movies I pretend to watch again and again till I’m sick of it! Have you seen it? Did you like it?

March

I missed it due to work! I was so busy it was impossible for me to make it happen. However, I plan to get my hands on the DVD. I love the trailer with the sloth. My Vulcan has described me many times as slow as a sloth. Well, not only me but everybody else not being him. So, this came in handy to understand him better. I need to watch this movie!

This was also in my plans. However, because of time and the bad reviews I decided to pass. From all the people I talked to about the movie, only one said it was okay. Everyone else just told me that the only good thing in it was Wonder Woman…

April

I wanted to see this one too, for Hemsworth reasons. However, it didn’t happen due to work, overwork, and exhaustion. I think that March and April have been two of the most challenging months ever in my life. I’ll end up watching it eventually. (I know it isn’t that great, but I still want to give it a go).

May

Captain America Civil War was incredible! I loved the movie! It had its fun moments, but it also showed us how our favorite Superheroes can be flawed and why they react the way they do. Not only it makes you think about more or less security, but it also makes you think what would happen if you were one of the guys. Even though I love Iron Man, I must stand along with Cap one more time. What about you?

I love X-Men movies, and this is not an exception. If you’ve read this blog, you already know that I complain about the main villain here. I loved how multilayered Magneto is, and how things are evolving. However, I must admit that Apocalypse could have been better. (Yes, another movie I must own!)

Alice Through the Looking Glass was fantastic as well. One of my favorite characters was Time, and I must admit that’s unexpected. I love the take of the movie on time: it doesn’t steal things from you, but give you moments that you can treasure. At the end of the day, things are right or wrong depending on the point of view from which we stare at them.

June

To say that I loved it is not enough: I adored it! Although I don’t play Warcraft, I loved the movie so much that I ended up buying a Lothar poster and the novel adaptation. It was a long movie, but it felt short. I wanted more of it! I guess I need to wait for the second round. Again: oh! Lothar!

I know, not one of the best choices ever, but, since I loved the first one, I had to see Independence Day Resurgence. What can I say? I love movies where things get smashed in apocalyptic proportions. Plus, it had aliens. Bad ones. Now, I need the game to kill them all and make my stress disappear!

July

We’ve already planned a big day with the other officers of Geek Girl Brunch Brighton to enjoy the new Ghostbusters. I haven’t watched the movie yet, and I already got a Funko! I hope it is good because I have high expectations for it! Plus: I love the gender swap going on in the movie. How cool is having a Thor secretary? (Okay, maybe I’m stretching things a little bit too much here)

The new Star Trek is another must for me. Just because I’m a Trekkie, and I need to see it, even if it won’t be that good. I don’t agree much with the last movies of Star Trek: too much action and little to think about. As you know, I’m a TNG super fan, since I started with it when I was a kid. (Blame my Mom here.) However, from the beginning with the Original Series, episodes and movies provoked some new thinking into your mind. Let’s see what will happen with this one. Also, it’s sad that we lost the new Chekov.

August

After the Batman v Superman fiasco, I’m not sure what to expect from Suicide Squad. It looks way better than the previous DC film. Let’s hope it’s better, because the other only DC film I’m going to watch is going to be Wonder Woman. If you spoil it here, DC, I won’t hit the cinema for you ever again. (That was tough…)

November

Cumberstrange is a must see for me. Even if Doctor Strange was too strange for me time ago, now I love the comics. The artwork is fascinating, and the guy is bizarre. I have high hopes for this Marvel movie. However, I’ll be here waiting for it until November! That’s torture!

Yup, I’m a Harry Potter fan. And so, this movie is just mandatory. I love all things fantasy, so this one is just the logical choice for me. Again, too bad I have to wait for too long… Sigh!

December

Even if I’m a Trekkie (or Trekker, I don’t mind any of the two, I use them both by the way), I also happen to love Star Wars. So, I’ll hit the cinema every time there’s a movie. I hope this one is as good as the last one. It feels like it’s going to be a blast. Let’s hope so.

And, finally, Assassin’s Creed! I’m not playing it either, but I want to watch the movie. (It has Magneto in it! Ha!) It looks good, well, according to the trailer. Maybe I should give the games a try. Well, only if I have some free time.

What about you? What movies are on your list this year? Which ones have you seen? Any favorites so far?

  • My summer months list was nearly identical to yours – I added Finding Dory – I also want to see Assassin’s Creed just for Michael Fassbender.

  • I’m worried about Assasin’s Creed….really worried…..

I’m also not sure about Doctor Strange. We’ll see, but I’m really, really, really looking forward to finally seeing Warcraft, Magical Beasts and Where to find them and Rogue One. I mean mother flipping Forest Whitaker is in it. It’s gonna be good. 😛

    • Well, I want to see both. I have high hopes for both, tbh. I just hope Doctor Strange is as good as the comics 🙂
