This fandom Friday is hard for me, because I don’t really give much thought to spin-offs. So, this time I had to really think about which spin-offs I’d like to see on the big or small screen. Perhaps, you won’t find in the list what you might be expecting, but, here are my choices!
1. Gospel of Loki, as a Thor/Avengers Spin-off.
As you know, all the MCU movies till now, have as a central character Thor or the Avengers (in connection to Asgard). However, I’d love to watch something just related to Loki’s point of view. A spin-off if you will. Loki’s Army members have been pleading for a Loki solo movie since times immemorial (that’s, since Thor was released worldwide). So, my first ever choice would be a Spin-off for Loki, in a movie shape. Yup: it has to be on the big screen.
2. Battle Star Galactica: Gaius Baltar and Caprica Six.
BSG: Gaius Baltar and Caprica Six live on Earth. How were their lives on earth? Was Gaius able to farm as he insisted? Which were their adventures? Did they create a tribe with other humans and Cylons from Galactica? This is a spin-off I’d really love to see on the small screen. I loved this couple!
3. Luna Lovegood adventures.
Luna Lovegood is one of the Harry Potter characters that is dearest to me. She is a little bit weird, but it is precisely so what keeps her so close to me. In fact, I think it would be awesome to have a spin-off based on her life and personality. She is fun, awesome and someone you can count on. I wonder, how her life has been after all the Harry Potter adventures.
4. Gimli and Legolas adventures after LOTR.
If you’ve read LOTR, you’ll discover that Gimli and Legolas set off to do some sightseeing before both return to their homes. These two friends argue all over the books about which site, elvish or dwarfish, is best. So, at the end, they set off to do exactly that: sightseeing. However, instead of taking this idea from the books, I’d love to see more adventures in the Middle Earth with some of the main characters. In this case: Gimli and Legolas. A weird couple, if you ask me, but a funny one. Don’t you agree?
5. Dune Spin-off.
This is a film I really enjoyed. And I would love to see a spin-off about it! It is a movie by David Lynch, made in 1984. If you watch it, you’ll find some funny stuff in it. However, if there was a spin-off with the technology we have now, I bet the movie would be extremely great!
